The Roots of My Practice
My work is shaped by deep personal experience.
Hi. I’m Peter.
I lost my mother to cancer at age seven, my father to a heart attack at twelve, and spent the rest of my adolescence in the “care” of a dysfunctional, narcissistic figure. Yet, by all appearances, I was “fine.” I excelled in school—graduating high school with a 4.0 GPA and a near-perfect SAT score—before earning a BFA in Acting from the University of Southern California.
Looking back, I wonder if my acting career was, in part, an unconscious attempt to finally feel what I hadn’t allowed myself to feel, to win the love that had been absent, and to uphold the image that I was doing just fine. Maybe. Maybe not.
What I do know is that in 2023, during deep work in Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP) with Daniel Kim, I felt the full pain-rainbow of my heartbreak—and my drive to perform simply disappeared. What emerged instead was a clear path forward: helping others navigate their own healing.
In October 2023, I began training in Somatic Experiencing®, a body-based trauma therapy designed to restore nervous system regulation and resilience. I’ll enter the Advanced portion of the program in May 2025.

Additional Influences
Beyond my formal training, my perspective has been shaped by:
• Food & Baking
Perhaps another stand-in for love, but also a creative and sensory-driven pursuit.
• A Lifelong Curiosity About What It Means to Be Human
I’ve spent years reading, meditating on, and—let’s be honest—obsessing over the question: What the hell is going on here? This, in Somatic Experiencing terms, is called Orienting—our nervous system’s way of seeking safety in time and space. (For a catalog of the materials that have shaped my perspective, click here.)
• Psychedelics
My personal healing has included work with psilocybin, cannabis, ketamine, MDMA, and 5-MeO-DMT. (I am not offering psychedelic facilitation at this time.)
• Family
I’ve been married for 11 years, and we have a 10-year-old daughter.
Is This the Right Fit for You?
I know that this is not a typical “about me” page. I wrote it this way on purpose—to resonate with those who connect with my approach. If this feels like too much, or too raw, I want to validate that. The most important thing in any healing journey is finding a clinician who makes you feel safe enough to reach out.
Vulnerability and intimacy are essential to healing. Safety is the foundation. If you’re ready to explore what healing might look like for you, I’d love to connect.
